Week 20

I can’t believe you were in Medford this morning! During the time you were there we were right across the street at Walmart! Hope you had a fun week in California!

I think this will be the last week I spend in Central Point. I love it here but I am ready to go. We will find out on Friday or Saturday what is happening. Next Monday we will actually be transferring, so depending on what happens to me, I might not be able to email much next week.

I wish I was there to do all of the 4th celebration! Send me lots of pictures! I got all of the pictures from when you were in California! I can’t wait to go!

I got the package! Thank you!

I heard I was the screensaver on Nathan’s iPod. He’s SO cute!

Happy birthday this week!!! You are getting so old!!! Just kidding; there was a sister sitting next to me and saw the pictures of you in California and asked if it was me….. I know that makes you happy. Hope you have a great day!

Funny story of the week: We went to Wendy’s on Friday after all of our meetings. We were walking out to the parking lot after we ate, and we were almost to our cars when this guy stopped us. He was very drunk and most likely high on something. He talked to all six of us sisters for five minutes and none of us had any idea what he was saying. Right before he left he gave us all names. The names were Definitely, Sherpa, Wendy, Maybe, Unusual, and I was Virginia. It was an interesting experience but we all laughed when he left.

This week my companion had to get an MRI. Turns out the place we had to go for that was right across from the airport entrance. It was weird to be that close. We drive by the airport all the time, but we just drive by the end of the runway and I had never driven by the entrance. We should get the results of her MRI this week so hopefully it’s not too bad.

We went and had breakfast on the farm this morning (first picture).

We had dinner with some members who happen to own a 7 foot snake (second picture). Yes, it is a real snake!

Week 19

Happy late Father’s Day!!!! I love you!! Thank you for all that you have done for me! I wish I could give you a hug right now! Thank you for putting up with me.

This week was interesting…. It had a lot of ups and downs. We had a zone conference and we had two seventies come; it was amazing! We were also able to get back in contact with a recent convert that was baptized in January and has not been coming to church since March. We also met a lot of other amazing people.

My companion has a hurt back though so we spent a quite a bit of time going to doctors and just letting her sit because it hurts her to do too much. She is getting an MRI this week so that will help decide what happens to her. She might have to go home and have surgery. It has been craziness!!!

I saw that we have more missionaries in our new ward.

Have a fun week!

Here are some pictures from this past week or so. Love you!!

Week 18

Darrell took Jacob, Jonathan, Nathan, and Tyson to Alaska for the week.

From Emily:

Send pictures!!!!!!!! And have fun!!!!!!!! I love you all!

It sounds like a fun week at home too!  I am so sad I was not able to be there for all of the summer activities.

Wow, it sounds like a lot of change for our ward…. Are you happy with the split? My LDS Tools updated so I can see our new ward – it looks interesting.

What is the theme of the float this year?

I am so happy for Chelsey and Carlin.  Hopefully I will be there when Mia is sealed to them. I love the pictures they sent!

We haven’t had much happen between Thursday and today. The most exciting thing was on Sunday.  We were working on clearing out some of the former and potential investigators from our area book.  The one drawback to an electronic area book is it can hold a lot of people for a lot of years. There were some people we were trying to find that had moved out a couple of years ago.  We were able to make three of them new investigators again! I love being here and I know this is where I need to be. I can’t believe this transfer is already half way over.

Today we had zone Olympics.  It was a lot of silly games. One game was throwing eggs between back and forth, getting farther apart until the egg finally broke on someone. Another one was a companion had to stand ten feet away with a cup and the other companion was blindfolded with a large squirt gun. I am now sitting here at the church soaked because I was the companion with the cup… It was a lot of fun!

Hope you all have a great week! Love you! Tell Riley that I will be home on August 29 of next year….

Week 17

I got my package on Monday – thank you very much! I am using the keyboard right now. It has been a long time since I have emailed. It is so crazy to think that you are just down the road some days! I love you!

Tell Tyson I said Hi back and that I miss him and I hope he had a happy birthday!

Thanks for all of the emails I love to see and hear about everything  that is going on! Sorry I don’t have much time to write today.  P day is short because of our temple trip this morning. Just know that I really do love getting all of the emails and pictures and videos. I promise I  will write more on Monday.

We had a great morning in the temple. It has been a long, hot week; there were a lot of days that were in the high 90s and low 100s. The humidity makes it feel a lot warmer though.

We had an amazing experience this week! We had a lesson fall through so we ended up walking to our backups, and while we were walking we saw this man sitting outside of his house.  We went up and started talking to him.  Turns out he was reading his bible.  He hadn’t done that for a few years, so we started talking about the Book of Mormon.  Long story short, he has had a very rough past and he was looking for a way to  get rid of some of the guilt from his past. We are going back to meet with him tonight!

Em week 17

Week 16

Darrell travels to Medford frequently for work, and his hotel is only about 3 miles from Emily’s apartment.

From Emily:

It is crazy to think that you are right down the street! Every time we drive to Medford I think of you! I wish I could come give you a hug right now!  We drive by the airport and hotel all the time.

Sue is doing great. She is committed to baptism!  Her date is July 17; hopefully we will get her to move it up, but either way we are excited for her. She had some concerns come up this weekend that we are working through with her right now.

It’s crazy to think that the boys are out of school for the year. Hopefully they will enjoy summer! I can’t believe they are realigning the stake boundaries – you will have to let me know when it gets changed.  I am not really looking forward to the heat this week. It wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t have to go out and work in it, but that’s okay.

I am so sad I can’t go to Chelsey’s sealing…. It sounds like it will be good. Make sure and take lots of pictures and send them.

Next week p-day is on Thursday because we are going to the temple that day.  I love you and hope you have a great week!
